Blog
Welcome to the home of the blogs where you can find all of my musings and ramblings.
This is where I talk about anything and everything that has even the slightest thing to do with mental health and wellbeing, as well as pouring out my soul for all to see, which is frankly, quite terrifying. BUT if I want to spread the word and raise awareness of mental health issues then it only makes sense that I ‘walk the walk’ as they say.
If you find something that interests you then get in touch. Or if there’s a subject I haven’t covered that you’d like to know more about then let me know and I’ll do my very best.
You can also follow my Facebook and Instagram pages where I offer loads of tips and thoughts on how best to protect your own mental health.
Burn, Baby, Burn….out….
Burnout. The buzzword of the decade, but with good reason! It’s a silent menace, that creeps up on you, lurking in the corner just waiting for the moment to strike. But it doesn’t have to! Forewarned is forearmed as they say…..
“We the Jury find you…….….GUILTY!”
Guilt is a funny thing. It can hit you at the strangest times and for the strangest things. But what do you do when it starts to take over your life? How do you stop it form consuming you?
The 12 Stockings of Christmas
One universal thing about Christmas is usually, the humble stocking. Almost everyone has one and for me, it’s the best part, full of the little things that bring you joy, make you smile and show you how much the person who filled it, cares for you.
What’s in a name…
What’s in a name? Would a rose actually still be thought of as sweet if we didn’t associate it with love and romance? Do names affect our perception? Is hope really hope or is it just a villain, masquerading as a hero?
Mental Health First Aid Kit
When it comes to first aid, we all know where to go for a plaster or a painkiller. But what about your mental health? What do you do when you need something to help that?
I’m so tired…
Feeling tired has pretty much been a constant for the past twelve years. I think I’ve uttered the phrase “I’m so tired” so many times it’s losing all meaning. The fatigue does have it’s uses however by giving me blog ideas in the middle of the night. Silver lining and all.
Why do you need a blog anyway???
Are you sick and tired of people telling you that you need a blog, without telling you why? Luckily for you, I’ve come up with many compelling reasons to answer that very question…
Stress Stress Stress Stress Stress Stress Stress
Stress. It’s a familiar feeling and something that every single person has experienced at some point. But what happens when it all gets too much?
Help! I need somebody!
Knowing you need help and asking for are some of the hardest things you can do. But when you do, it really does make a world of difference.
Joy
Joy. A complex emotion that’s harder to find and even harder to keep but honestly, it’s worth the fight. I’ve finally found joy in my work and I love it! What’s even better is finding people who have the same passion.
Depression – It’s a bit crap really.
Warning! There is strong language in this post (depression is a bit pants so I feel it’s warranted on this occasion), so if you don’t want to see it stop now.
If you’re cool with that however, read on.
Survival – Cue the music…….
Survival. A primal instinct that allows parents to lift cars off their children and others to put one foot in front of the other when they’ve been beaten down. It’s what makes you nauseous and your heart start to race when you’re anxious.
It’s what keeps you alive.
